ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
A very interesting and pretty wedding was celebrated at the Lutheran Church, Coulson, on Wednesday, the 30th ultimo. The contracting parties were Mr. William Charles Riek (son of William Riek, of Anthony) and Miss Bertha Amelia Johannah Holz (third daughter of Mr. Christian Holz, of Roadvale). Pastor T. Frank offliciated. The weather was all that could be desired, being beautifully fine. A very large number of neighbours and friends from all parts of the district were present to view the in teresting ceremony. The bride was led to the altar leaning upon the arm of her father, who subsequently gave her away. She looked charming in a costume of white silk with transparent yoke, V-shaped, prettily trimmed with kilted chiffon and white ribbon. The skirt was tastefully tucked at the waist and vandyke frilled at foot. She wore the customary wreath and veil, and carried a handsome shower bouquet. Two bridesmaids were in attendance. The chief (Miss Amelia Holz) wore a pretty dress of white silk, with transparent yoke, trimmed with rich lace and insertion. The skirt was gathered at the waist, anti at the foot were deep frills and tucks. The other bridesmaid (Miss Dora Riek) was also attired in white silk, with similar yoke, tucked elbow sleeves, skirt with vandyke frills, trimmed with ribbon and insertion. Both bridesmaids carried shower bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. E. H. Draheim (best man) and W. E. Zillmann. The dress worn by the bride was made by Miss Guerin, of Ipswich Mrs. W. Leu made the attire of the chief bridesmaid; and Miss Dora Riek's costume was produced in Mrs. Cuthbertson's dress-making department, all three costumes reflecting the highest merit on those concerned. After the ceremony had been performed and the happy couple had received the congratulations of friends, together with the usual showers of rice, they were driven rapidly to the home of the bride's father, a distance of about two miles, followed by a merry group. There a sumptuous and bountiful wedding breakfast was tastefully laid out. The board, in addition to bearing good tidings of every description, was adorned by a handsome wedding-cake. After justice had been done to the repast the usual toasts were proposed, and enthusiastically. honoured. Pastor Frank, in a felicitous speech, proposed "The Bride," the bridegroom suitably responding. Mr. Edward Hopf, in a humorous speech, proposed "The Parents of the Bride and Bridegroom." Mr. C. Hole, in a few appropriate remarks, responded. "The Bridesmaids" was proposed by Mr. W. Wendorf, and acknowledged by Mr. E. H. Draheim. During the remainder of the day games and merriment were engaged in, but night gave the crowning glory to the day's festivities, as then the company repaired to the spacious barn which had been tastefully decorated for the occasion with greenery and flowers. Dancing was commenced and continued with zest till early morning, with the exception of an interval aout midnight, when refresh ments were partaken of. The music was supplied by Messrs. H. Wendorf, G. Beitzel, and H. Stephan, Mr. W. Beitzel officiating as M.C. After nightfall a number of youths appeared, and rendered an overture in line style on battered kerosine tins and discarded milk buckets, creating more noise than melody. They too, however, could testify to the genial goodwill of the host and hostess. The following is a list of the presents to the happy pair :--Pastor Frank, Bible; Mrs. Leu, lamp ; Mr. and Mrs. E.
