- Herman and Maria lived on the family farm until 1914. Harry and Minna moved to Joyce St, Ipswich in 1918 and Harry learnt the trade of carpentry. They later moved temporarily to Manly while Harry built a home at Greenslopes and they moved into it in 1922/23. He continued building until about 1927.
Because of the depression they decided to return to farming. They moved to Mt Walker West and ran a dairy farm until 1930. They moved from Mt Walker to Roadvale/Tallagella in 1932 and to Rosewood in 1934. In 1936 Harry and Mina moved back to Greenslopes and Harry continued building from the outbreak of the war until the end of the war. He worked on defence work and boats for wages. In 1946 Harry went back to contracting in a company with his sons Noel and Selwyn. He retired at the age of 70 at Bundaberg.
His wife Mina died on 3 August 1985 and Harry continued to live in the family home until Christmas 1988, he then decided to enter the Pioneer Home at Bundaberg.
Herman played the violin and Mina played piano for local dances. In 1946 he formed a contracting company with sons Noel and Selwyn. Herman and Mina retired to Bundaberg. (Source: Win Brighton).

ROSSOW, Herman Emil: Late of Elsie Eaves Section, Pioneer Memorial Home, Millbank, passed away peacefully on October 11, 1991. Aged 98 years 10 months. Dearly beloved husband of the late Mina Louise, dearly loved afather and father-in-law of Neol and Mabe (Bundaberg), Selwyn and Dorothy (Brisbane), James and June (Buderim), loving grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and loved brother of Rosina Olsen.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet at St John's Luthran Church, George Street, South Bundaberg on Wednesday, October 16, 1991 for the funeral service of the later Herman Emil Rossow, which is appointed to commence at 9.30 am. On conclusion of the service the funeral cortege will proceed to the Bundaberg Lawn Cemetery.

BADKE-ROSSOW.
On the 4th instant, there took place in Roadvale, in the house of Mr. Herman Badke, the marriage of his daughter, Miss Louise Maria, with Mr. Herman Emil Rossow. The wedding celebrations were limited to the family circle. The Rev. Rudolf Monz officiated. As a reminder of the event, Pastor Monz gave the happy couple, a beautiful English Bible and an artistic marriage certificate. The happy couple left Roadvale on their honey-moon by the afternoon train, en route, for Brisbane. Mr. and Mrs. Rossow's future residence will be at Roadvale,- "Daily Mail."
