EGGERT - ZIILMANN.
The Lutheran Church, Milbong, was the scene of a very pretty and interesting wedding on Wednesday last, when Mr. August Frederich Wilhelm Eggert (third son of Mr. C. Eggert, Roadvale) and Miss Teheresa Louisa Wilhelmina Zillmann (youngest daughter of the late Mr. Henry Zillmann and Mrs. Zillmann, Roadvale) were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. The Rev. R. Manz conducted the ceremony, which was performed in the presence of about 40 relatives and friends of the happy couple. Mr. W. Raabe presided at the organ, and as the people were entering the Church, played Lohengrin's "Bridal March." The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. R. Badke, looked very pretty, being attired in a costume of cream satin striped silk, tunic sleeves, with yoke of silk insertion with pearl ornaments, with orthodox wreath and veil. She carried a shower bouquet and wore a gold bangle the gift of the bridegroom. She was attended by Miss Mary Badke as chief bridesmaid, who was dressed in silk eolinenne with quarter sleeves, trimmed with silk insertion and all-over lace, with hat to match, and wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Maria Rossow acted as bridesmaid, and was dressed in silk figured voile, quarter sleeves, yoke of all-over lace, hat to match. She also wore a gold brooch the gift of the bride groom. Both the bridesmaids carried handsome bouquets. Mr. Fred. Eggert acted as best man, and Mr. Edward Zillmann as groomsman. After the pleasing ceremony, all adjoined to the residence of the bride's mother and partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast, over which the Rev. R. Manz presided. The toaste, "The Happy Couple," "The Bridesmaids," and "The Parents of the Bridal Couple" were honoured and received with "hoch sollen sie leben." At 7.30 p.m. another repast was partaken of, after which dancing was commenced, and kept going till a late hour. Music was supplied by Messrs. H. E. Badke, F. Bietzel, and W. Badke, while Mr. W. Raabe officiated as M.C. The latter retired at 11.30, and his duties were then taken up by others. Dancing had just commenced when a tin-can hand arrived and discoursed music (?), and after having been given refreshments, drank to the health of the happy couple and retired. During the night refreshments were again partaken of. The bride received a large number of presents. The honeymoon will be spent at Southport and Tweed Heads, and on their return they will reside in Roadvale.
