DEATH OF MR. RICHARD JOSIAS
DENMAN.
Mr. Richard Josias Denman, who met with a serious accident in Smith-street, North Ipswich, on Monday afternoon last, owing to collision with a vehicle, one of whose shafts pierced his abdomen, passed peacefully away at Dr. E. E. Brown's private hospital at an early hour yesterday morning. The deceased's condition, after the accident, was not such as to warrant hopes being entertained of his recovery, but, naturally, his demise came as a severe blow to his relatives, and it was deeply regretted by his fellow workmen in the blacksmith shop at the North Ipswich railway workshops. The sadness of his death is accentuated by the fact that he was shortly to be married. He is survived by a mother, four sisters, and four brothers, for whom profound sympathy has been expressed. The funeral will take place this morning, and will leave the residence of Mr. W. M. Lawrence. Tiger-street, West Ipswich, at 9 o'clock.

DENMAN. - In loving memory of our dear son and brother, Richard Josias Denman, who died, at Ipswich, on February 24, 1909.
We saw him suffering a few short hours ;
It caused us bitter grief
To see him slowly pass away
And could not give relief.
Not dead to us - we love him dear -
Not lost, but gone before.
Peaceful in mind, patient in pain,
Dear Richard has left us, bright heaven to gain ;
Had we been asked, oh, well we know,
We should have said, "Lord, spare the him."
(Inserted by his loving mother, sisters, and brother.)
DENMAN. - In loving memory of Richard Josias Denman, who died from injuries accidentally received, February 24, 1909.
Gentle in mind, patient in pain ;
My dear Richard left me, Heaven to gain.
With actions so noble, generous, and kind,
Few in this world his equal could find.
Not gone from memory, not gone from love,
But gone to his Father's home above.
(Inserted by Ivy Lawrence)
DENMAN. - In loving memory of Richard Josiah Denman, who died on February 24, 1909.
Though lost to sight, to memory dear,
Call not back the dear departed ;
Anchored safe, where storms are o'er.
On the border land we left him.
Soon to meet to part no more.
(Inserted by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and Family.)
