Another old Hawkesbury native, Mr Paul Bushell, of Wilberforce, passed away on Monday at the age of 78 years and 8 months. Deceased was born at Wilberforce, and lived all his life in the house where he died, where all his brothers and sisters were also born. The only surviving members of the family are Miss Isabella Bushell, of 'Braemar,' Windsor, and Miss Ellen Bushell, of Wilberforce, who are sisters of the deceased. The late Paul Bushell married twice. His first wife was Miss Cora Beeoroft, who bore him three children. The eldest daughter married the late Benjamin Dunstan, junr. ; another daughter is Mrs Colwell, of Balmain ; and Mr Palmer Bushell, of Wilberforce, is the youngest child of the first marriage. His second wife was Miss Eliza Cobcroft, sister of Mr S. Cobcroft, of Wilberforce, who still survives. Her family are George (employed in the Fresh Food and Ice Company), Beatrice, Jessie (Mrs Dunstan, whose husband is dead), Marshall and Nelson. The late Paul Bushell was a fine type of Hawkes bury native, and an extremely kind hearted man, being averse at all times to wound the feelings of any person. He followed farm ing pursuits, and was a prominent man in the early day sports of the district. Though he had not been feeling well for some time, he did not lay up till the day before his death, having then had a bad turn. He was bright and apparently strong that after noon. Next morning he woke at about a quarter to five and took his medicine. At five o'clock his wife found that he was dead. The burial took place at St. John's cemetery, Wilberforce, on Wednesday morning. Rev. W. S. Newton, M.A., conducted the burial service, and Mr J. W. Chandler carried out the funeral arrangements. The funeral was a very large one. The pall-bearers were Mesrs. R. Turnbull, E. T. Bowd, B. Hibbert, A. Buttsworth, J. Lamond, and A. Stephens.
